The Oak Ridges Trail Association (ORTA) is thrilled to announce a partnership with Trail Hub as part of the highly anticipated relaunch of the Oak Ridges Moraine Adventure Relay. Set to take place on June 7, 2025, the Adventure Relay is a 160-kilometer team event traversing the breathtaking landscapes of the Oak Ridges Moraine. This exciting collaboration will position Trail Hub as the official “Mid-Race Hub” on race day, playing a central role as a gathering place for participants, supporters, and the community.
The Adventure Relay, which ran annually from 2007 to 2019 before a pandemic-related hiatus, brings participants together from all walks of life to compete across 14 stages of canoeing, biking, and trail running. With the Moraine’s conservation and recreation in focus, the event raises awareness for Ontario’s natural treasures and supports ORTA’s ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance its trail network.
Trail Hub, a premier adventure destination in the Greater Toronto Area, offers unparalleled access to over 240 kilometers of multi-use trails. As the official Mid-Race Hub, Trail Hub will serve as a pivotal checkpoint for both the full relay and partial relay, providing a welcoming space for racers, supporters, and volunteers to gather, refuel, and cheer on participants.
“Trail Hub is proud to partner with ORTA on their annual Oak Ridges Moraine Adventure Relay, and we’re excited to welcome participants to one of the main checkpoints at our facility,” said Adam Morka, Head of Business Development and Marketing at Trail Hub. “Together, we’re championing the idea that conservation and recreation are interconnected. This partnership highlights our shared commitment to preserving these trails and providing a space where the community can explore, compete, and enjoy the great outdoors. We look forward to collaborating with ORTA to organize an event that not only fosters athletic excellence but also deepens appreciation for our natural environment and builds a strong, engaged community for future generations”
Karen Graham, President of ORTA, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership: “The Adventure Relay has always been about celebrating the beauty of the Oak Ridges Moraine while inspiring community engagement with the trails we work so hard to preserve. Partnering with Trail Hub as our official Mid-Race Hub strengthens this mission, offering participants a fantastic destination to connect, recharge, and appreciate the incredible resources our region has to offer. We’re excited to see this partnership bring new energy to the relay.”
In addition to hosting a key checkpoint, Trail Hub will provide dining options, breathtaking views, and a community atmosphere where racers and their supporters can socialize throughout race day.
The return of the relay has been made possible by a generous grant of $20,000 from the Greenbelt Foundation. This funding will play a key role in relaunching the annual Oak Ridges Moraine Adventure Relay. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Oak Ridges Moraine Trail, enhancing community awareness of the Greenbelt’s natural features, including its beautiful trails.
