How to Register

- IMPORTANT - non-members must contact the hike leader well in advance of the hike. Non-members are not able to access our online registration system but will be required to read and sign a hardcopy of the waiver of participation
- Non-members are welcome to join two (2) hikes (where they will sign a waiver of liability with the Hike Leader). After a couple hikes you will be encouraged to become a full member and join us in our conservation, community engagement, social initiatives, and public engagement efforts
- Refer to ‘Choosing a Hike’ to select a hike that is suitable for you

- Select 1) view or register for hikes 2) hike 3) register button 4) next 5) read and complete waiver requirements 6) next 7) confirm
- WildApricot app registration
- This app makes registering quick and easy. Additionally, click on the GPS coordinates on the day of your hike to find your way to the trail head. Search your app store and use your ORTA login
- 1) select a hike 2) register button 3) read and complete waiver requirements 4) continue 5) complete
- You will receive an email confirmation
Registering after 6 pm the night before a hike? Should you become registered for a hike after 6pm the night before the hike, (even if from the waitlist) you must contact the hike leader to let them know you are attending, as they may have printed off their Hike Leader List already and will not know you are coming and may leave without you
- For family memberships, please register your family member prior to hikes by revisiting your registration on the WildApricot website. Select 1) already registered, 2) new registration, 3) keep the email address as is, 4) next, 5) enter the name etc. of your family member, 6) next and then confirm
- Can I bring a guest to an ORTA hike? Yes, if you have the approval of the hike leader and there is space availability in the registration system. Steps to bring a guest: 1) contact the hike leader to seek their approval 2) ensure your guest is up to the pace requirement and terrain for the hike 3) share the waiver details with your guest and ensure your guest understands the waiver requirements to participate 4) you must register your guest online in advance through WildApricot 5) follow the steps in the first paragraph to register your guest by selecting ‘already registered’ in WildApricot etc.

Choosing a hike
Hikes vary in difficulty. To help hikers decide which hikes are suitable for them, in each ORTA hike description you will find important pieces of information about speed/pace, distance, and duration. To participate in an ORTA hike, you need to be able to complete the specified length of the hike within the time stated. Choose from the calendar hikes that are suitable to you.
