Hike Types and Difficulty Levels

Choosing the right hike is important for an enjoyable experience on the trails. ORTA hikes are categorized by pace, helping you find the best fit based on your comfort level and goals.

  • Slow (3 km/hr) → A relaxed pace, perfect for those who enjoy taking in the surroundings.
  • Slow-Moderate (3.5 km/hr) → A comfortable pace with steady movement.
  • Moderate (4 km/hr) → A consistent, active pace that maintains momentum throughout the hike.
  • Moderate-Fast (4.5 km/hr) → A brisk pace that requires sustained movement.
  • Fast (5 km/hr or faster) → A strong, steady pace suited for those who prefer a faster tempo.

Pace is just one factor to consider. Terrain, elevation, and distance also play a role in how challenging a hike may feel. We encourage all hikers to check the hike description for details and choose a pace that aligns with their comfort level and hiking style.
