ORTA offers multiple group hikes each week which continue throughout all four seasons. Our group hikes are available in varying levels of difficulty, speed, distance and terrain. All are led by experienced volunteer hike leaders, each certified in hike leader training and first aid.
Group hikes are available to all members with a limited number of these hikes also available to non-members. Non-members may join a limited number of member-only hikes as a guest, with the permission of the hiker leader and upon signing the required waivers. Please see the FAQ section for more information regarding guest registration.
Whether joining us on a group hike or venturing out on your own or with friends, we hope to see you on the trails!
Choosing a hike
Hikes vary in difficulty. To help hikers decide which hikes are suitable for them, in each ORTA hike description you will find important pieces of information about speed/pace, distance, and duration. To participate in an ORTA hike, you need to be able to complete the specified length of the hike within the time stated. Choose from the calendar hikes that are suitable to you. Hikes that are open will say ‘Members and non-members welcome‘ Please read the FAQ to understand hike speeds and what they mean along with other important hiking tips and preparing for a hike.
